Little Hearts of Hope
Hope delivered.
Sometimes the child who needs someone to see them isn’t the child in the hospital bed.
There is something special about a package arriving at your door. At Fragrant Life, we get to see that anticipation all the time. This week, the Blessing Shelf is helping send a very different kind of package — one created for a child carrying emotions that can be hard to name.

Our Blessing Shelf will support Little Hearts of Hope, a Christian ministry serving children who have a parent or sibling battling cancer. Families enroll in a one-year program where children receive a Hope Package every month. Each package focuses on an emotion common during a difficult family cancer journey and includes play- and art-based activities, guidance for parents, prayer, and encouragement rooted in the Word of God — all at no cost to the family.

As September begins — Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — we’re remembering that cancer affects an entire family, including the children standing beside the diagnosis.
Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
This week, we get to help make that nearness tangible.
Little Hearts of Hope notices the child who may not be the patient, but who is still carrying fear, questions, change, and grief. A Hope Package arriving at the door says something simple and powerful: You are seen. You are loved. You are not alone.

This week, fragrance becomes a fragrant offering that helps put encouragement, Scripture, and hope into a box — and sends it straight to a child who needs it.

Mission of Hope Haiti 🇭🇹
We began the week with the story of a boy who offered Jesus five loaves and two fish. He couldn't feed the crowd — he simply put what he had in Jesus' hands. This Sunday, our loaves looked a little more like bottles of fragrance.

Together, the Fragrant Life community raised $1,149.56 for Mission of Hope Haiti, helping provide meals and opportunity for children across Haiti. We don't have to carry the whole need. We simply offer what we have.
Men anpil, chay pa lou. Many hands make the load lighter.

Somewhere, a child gets another opportunity to say: Mwen kapab. I can. 🇭🇹❤️

Ability Ministry
Supporting ministry that helps churches include, disciple, and empower people with disabilities. There was also a meaningful connection through Central’s existing work with Ability Ministry.

This ministry was chosen because suicide and mental-health struggles had actually surfaced during a Fragrant Life live show. Rather than simply move on, the next ministry week was used to highlight an organization equipped to help people have meaningful conversations and find support.

Cookson Hills Christian Ministries
Selected before leaving for NYR July 17–24, with the Blessing Shelf held after returning. Cookson Hills helps children who have experienced difficult circumstances “write a better story.” A special connection was discovering that Cookson Hills and Central Christian College of the Bible both began in 1957.

Feed My Starving Children
A special Friday Blessing Shelf, moved ahead because of departure for church camp on June 13. This ministry had a particularly personal connection — having both packed FMSC meals in the United States and seen those meals received in Haiti.

Helping women find freedom from addiction, healing, and restoration — including becoming healthier mothers. This ministry was particularly personal because of relationships with women who have been part of the program.

Special-needs ministry in Haiti. One of the central stories of the week was about children whom parts of Haitian culture had once viewed as a curse — being recognized instead as people created and deeply loved by God.
