A gift can say something before a word is spoken: someone thought of you. Someone cared enough to choose, pack, and send something just for you.
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, collects shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items. Local churches deliver these gifts to children around the world and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Janeil has seen the other side of the shoebox
During his years serving in Haiti, Janeil was there when Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes were delivered. He has seen firsthand the excitement these gifts can bring. For him, this week’s ministry is connected to real children and a joy he has witnessed.
Many of us have seen a box being packed. This week, we’re remembering the child who gets to open it.
The gift opens a door
The shoebox is part of a larger ministry. Children hear about God’s love, and many recipients are invited to continue learning through The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship course led by trained local teachers.
Our generosity points beyond the gifts inside the box to the greatest gift we have received in Christ.

Isaiah 117 House — Love Welcomes
Isaiah 117 House provides a safe, comforting home for children awaiting foster placement. Meals, clean clothes, places to rest and play, and caring people help children feel welcomed while caseworkers arrange what comes next. The ministry also supports caseworkers and helps ease the transition for foster families.
Through 54 Blessing Shelf sales on Whatnot, the Fragrant Life community generated $353.52 after Whatnot fees to support this work. Many of the fragrances came from people’s homes, while financial gifts helped stock the shelf, too. Together, that generosity became a practical way to welcome children during a difficult transition.

YWAM Emerge — Love Nourishes
YWAM Emerge trains missionaries and equips communities to grow nutritious food through aquaponics, bringing together fish, vegetables, practical skills, and discipleship. It is a teach-them-to-fish ministry: helping people produce food and income while training others to carry that knowledge into more communities. This mission is personal to Janeil, who worked with aquaponics during his years serving in Haiti.
Through 20 Blessing Shelf sales on Whatnot, including Hawas Boa, the Fragrant Life community raised $484.38 to support this work. Our Love Nourishes week turned fragrances back into fishes—helping support harvests, opportunity, and the hope of Christ.

Bridget’s Cradles — Love Remembers
Some lives are measured in decades. Others are measured in hours. Every life is valuable and worth remembering. Bridget’s Cradles provides handmade cradles and memory keepsakes to hospitals at no cost, while surrounding families with Christ-centered comfort, tenderness, and support. What began with the cradle knitted for Bridget Faith became a way for one family’s experience of comfort to bring encouragement to many others.

SOAR Special Needs — Love Celebrates
The Fragrant Life community set a $950 goal to sponsor two top-tier Party SOAR Style birthday celebrations through SOAR Special Needs — one for a young man and one for a young woman.
Through 43 Blessing Shelf sales on Whatnot and one website purchase, the community raised $959.99, exceeding the goal by $9.99 and fully funding both parties. Each celebration will be designed around the guest of honor, with friends, family, sensory-friendly activities, treats, gifts, and people gathered to say: “We are glad God made you. Your life is worth celebrating.”

CURE International brings life-changing surgery, compassionate care, and the hope of Jesus to children living with treatable disabilities. This week, the Blessing Shelf reminded us of the signs Jesus pointed to: the lame walk, the blind receive sight, and good news reaches the poor.
Through 15 Blessing Shelf sales on Whatnot and one website purchase, the Fragrant Life community raised $811.71 to support CURE’s work of healing children and proclaiming the hope of Jesus.
The week also brought our biggest fragrance gift yet: a 70ml Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait de Parfum. Jason of Arimathea purchased it and said, “Put it on the shelf!” His gift was auctioned with a $1 starting bid, turning a bottle of fragrance into help for children who need surgery.

My Life Clinic
My Life Clinic is a faith-based nonprofit in Columbia, Missouri, providing compassionate, confidential care at no cost to women and families facing unexpected or unsupported pregnancies. Its support includes pregnancy testing, confirmation ultrasounds, options consultations, prenatal and parenting education, a weekly mothers’ group, personal encouragement, community referrals, and practical baby supplies.
Through 20 completed Blessing Shelf sales, the Fragrant Life community raised $550.97 to help My Life Clinic continue walking with mothers and families—not only through a difficult decision, but throughout the journey that follows. The week also honored the legacy of Dr. Ross Duff, whose faithful service connected Open Arms, now My Life Clinic, with the Tender Lambs Birthing Center in Haiti.

Little Hearts of Hope
Little Hearts of Hope walks alongside children whose parent or sibling is battling cancer, sending a Hope Package each month for a full year. Each package helps a child name and process a “big feeling” through play- and art-based activities, guidance for parents, prayer, and encouragement rooted in God’s Word — all at no cost to the family.

From the mountains of Haiti to the mountains of Virginia, the Blessing Shelf followed a thread that has run through so much of the Fragrant Life story: God meeting children in hard places and giving them a home, a future, and the opportunity to become who He created them to be.

Mission of Hope Haiti 🇭🇹
We began the week with the story of a boy who offered Jesus five loaves and two fish. He couldn't feed the crowd — he simply put what he had in Jesus' hands. This Sunday, our loaves looked a little more like bottles of fragrance.
Together, the Fragrant Life community raised $1,149.56 for Mission of Hope Haiti, helping provide meals and opportunity for children across Haiti. We don't have to carry the whole need. We simply offer what we have.
